Rhymote, a Rhythmbox Remote Control for Android

Rhymote is a remote control for Rhythmbox, the music management application for Gnome. It consists of two components:

  • An Android application that runs on your phone
  • A web server that runs on the computer that hosts Rhythmbox

The source code is available: Mercurial repository

It is currently code so ugly that only a parent could love it. Seriously. Pretty much everything is hard coded, so if you want to use the app, you’ll need to change the code. There is no binary available for that very reason. I am writing Rhymote for the sake of scratching an itch and experimenting with the Android platform. If you would like to follow along with me, you can do so at my blog. That link will take you straight to all of the Android articles.

If you’re interested in the code or want to get in touch for other reasons, you can find me via email or jabber. My address is tim -at - achievewith -dot- us.
